Kicker vs Jl, Please give opinions?

Hi, I have two 10 inch jl audio 10w3v3 8 ohm subs in a ported box. I am wondering if I might be better off going with two kicker cvr 10's. I have not installed the subs in my car yet, but Im scared that the 8 ohms is going to kill the performance of the jl's. What are my options? Does wiring in parallel really make a difference? I have a kenwood kac-9104d amp. All opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Wire them in parallel (positives together, negetives together) to bring the overall system impedance to 4ohms.

That amp puts out 500wRMS at 4ohms, which is a decent amount of bass. But to get the most out of that amp (900W) you would want to get subs capable of being wired to 2ohms (or 1ohm).

Try the setup you have, it might be enough to float your boat.

In terms of quality, I would buy JL-audio over Kicker and day of the week. Not saying kicker is poor quality at all, but JL makes exceptional equipment.
