Kicker or JL subs in my car?

I want to get 2 10" subs for my car and I have two diffrent quotes I have got one on 2 10 " JL subs and a custom box for $500 I alst have a quote from another place that says $300 for two 10" kicker comp vx subs and a custom box.......the only reason I am looking into the comp vx subs is because they where recomomended to me by a friend......what is the better sub? And why? Are the JL subs worth the extra $200? I really know nothing about subs.......please help me out....and if you have any amps you would sudjest please help me out with that as well
 
I would say shop around more, find a shop that can do a demo comparison between some of the subs you're looking at so you can hear the difference for yourself, apples-to-apples.
 
If you dont know by now. Quality cost money. ofcoarse JL Audio are better, But Kicker does make a reliable woofer. And for the amp. Make sure it will run at 1ohm. The warrenty will tell you what amp to buy.
