alright so this has been bothering me for a while. I have 4 gauge wiring. Kicker 750.1 amp and a 15" L5 kicker solo-baric which handles 750rms and the amp gives it plenty of that.

heres my question, my friend has a 12" jackhammer with a mtx 2 channel 300 rms amp and its louder than mine, like his hits.

Mines pretty loud but it doesn't come close to hurting your ears and his does i mean his pounds and my doesn't and it seems like i have the better system.

Could anyone tell me what it could be i'm pretty sure my sub is wired 2ohm and I have a pioneer head unit which idk if that has anything to do with it,

Oh yea and the louder the turn my volume the subs dont get louder they only stay loud at like 30 and then when i turn it up they stay the same or just dont get louder at all. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Hello. i have two L5"s too, with zero gauge wire. and for each sub i have a 750.1 amp. It was like $1500, and you think it would pound anything else out of the water. My system works just like yours, it doesent seem as loud inside the car as other subs, but my mom says she hears me when i enter the subdivision which is like half a mile away. My bass doesent go up after like 17. It pisses me off too. i am actually getting rid of them and getting two 15" compVX. they seem like there the best. The square subs have more range for bass and are for old people i think. you should get the CompVX subs too. they are built with the same internals as the new L7 woofer, but its round. VERY VERY NICE SUB.

Well if all of your wiring is fine, he probably has a better box. A good sub box can make a HUGE difference. I would look at an Obcon box for your sub. They probably don't have square boxes but just get a 15" round box and cut it to a square so it will fit your Kicker.

And if your sub doesnt get louder after 30, maybe your amp can't put out enough power. If your sub is a Dual 4 ohm sub, make sure you have it wired in Parallel so that it is at 2 ohms. On the speaker, wire the positive to the positive and the negative to the negative....then hook it up to your amp.
