I have a Kicker Kx 1200.1 amp and im looking to get some subs. I was gona get Two 12" Alpine type R's 2 ohm wich are rated at 500w RMS. Is this amp to powerfull for these subs because i herd this amp is underated in power also. My budget for subs is about 300$ i already have a dope sealed box for the 12's and the wireing kit.
THANKS TO ALL WHO HELP
5 STAR ANSWER WILL BE CHOSEN :)
i called a audio shopo and they said i would want the 2 ohm not the 4ohm, so im gona want the 4ohm version then>?
WOW thanks soo mcuhhh wishmaster!!!!!! cool ima get the 4ohm ones then!!!, cant wait to get subs slappinn!!! XD

I'd personally go with 2 12" Kicker L5's (600 RMS each), but you'd have to build/buy another enclosure. They shouldn't run more than $300 for the pair. In my opinion, you should get a ported (vent style) box to increase output as well.

just dont crank the gain or bass boost up on the amp and you will be fine. kicker defiently underrates all of their products. my 750.1 channel amp willl put out close to 1000 rms alone..keep in mind
