Kicker cvx I have a few ?s please help!!!!!!!!?

I have a cvx12 with a zx750.1 amp. It isnt very loud and I have smelled a distinct burn smell. I know it may be melting the coil. Anyways would a kicker cvx15 be louder even if i have a zx750.1 amp?? The amp really puts out alot of rms and it would never overwork the sub. Good idea?? Will i notice any difference??
