I currently have two kicker CVR12's (800watts peak, 400 RMS)in a ported box powered by an Earthquake monoblock that pushes 1000watts RMS, they are wired in series, and i have been told that the subs are over powered, and i have been told it was perfect, and i have been told that they are UNDER powered.

what is your view?
what setup for an amp should i run to get the most out of my subs?

HALP!

do not listen to luke because he doesnt know anything about speakers. I am not the best in the world but rule number 1 is never look at peak power lol. I have 2 kicker cvr 12's with a zx750.1 pushing them and they pound pretty hard. 1000 rms is not too much power for those subs because 1) earthquake amps are a little over rated so it probly puts out closer to 900 rms and 2) kicker subs are made to handle more than what they say. You can actually youtube ppl putting a kicker zx1000.1 amp to 2 12"cvrs and they pound. O under powered is a dumb myth that needs to be broken. When you have the volume at 2 instead of 20 that is the same as having a 500 rms amp trying to push 2 1000 rms subs. It just means its not at its full potential but wont mess anything up at all. Those subs are probably getting what they want and need to perform well. I say its perfect.

Well if your input power is 1000 Watts and your output power is 1600 Watts then your system isn't supplying enough power to run the speakers at maximum capacity. Therefore the speakers are under powered.
