i am putting a kenwood kac-9104 amp powering a rockford power t1 dvc 4ohm sub in my pontiac trans am. i am keeping the factory head unit. the amp has connectors that i can splice into the rear speakers instead of the rca cables and the manual states the speaker output can be 40 watts max. i dont know what the rear speakers are getting, but the monsoon system is 500watt. if i did exceed 40 watts would the amp go into protection mode or would it damage it?
