Have a 2002 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 with what I call a "Rapping" sound from the engine. Dealer thinks it may be caused by a piston hitting the head. They can't be sure without taking the engine apart. ( Major bucks) Any ideas on how or what to check to be sure? Could it be related to the cam chain tensioner? Engine starts O.K. and has about 4,700 miles. Any advise would be helpful.
