Kawasaki Ninja 250r pricing?

So I went to the local kawasaki dealership and got a price for a ninja 250r. MSRP is $3999 and they added $186 for processing fees and $300 for Freight/Prep fees. So all together this bike would cost $4485. I was just wondering if those extra fees are normal or if I should be looking somewhere else to buy this bike. Do most dealerships add those extra fees on or am I being ripped off? Thanks

the dealer in my area is advertising the new 09 Ninja 250 for $3499, plus he charges $195 freight-prep-set up fee
title, plates, transfer fees all shouldn't exceed $100
look around to other dealers, you should get one out the door for less than $4000

That's pretty standard, but you can ask them to drop the fees and they might. I ended up not paying freight or dealer set-up on the last bike I bought new, but I had kind of an insider deal on that one. Still, it didn't hurt to ask, and they said yes right away. Tell them you will pay MSRP plus tax-title-license or you aren't interested. Then leave them your name and a number. If they want to sell the bike to you, you should get a call back in a matter of days.

I would not reccomend this bike at all. A few years ago I was taking my drivers safety course and one of the other guys had such a bike a brand new one. Well pieces of the plastic farings and housings were falling off as he rode around in circles at low speeds.

I wouldn't go for it, although I wouldn't get a 250 either. You'll be bored in a week or two. I've had the 500R for about a month and want to get something more already. Also, there are tons of 250, especially ninjas, out there to buy used anyways, why buy new?
