Kawasaki Ninja 250r for beginner?

I'm 19 years old 6'2" 205 lbs. and I want to start casually riding. I want a bike that I can easily learn on that will fit me. I will primarily use it for in city transit with not too much traffic and high speeds of 55mph. After much research I've found that this would probably be the best small bike for me considering my size without moving up to a 500cc. I haven't been to a dealer yet to sit on it which I will but does anyone have any other initial thoughts.
