Kawasaki Ninja 250r 2008-09?

So I recently got hired for a job and make about 200-300 every two weeks. I want to take the MSF course, im 18. But before that I want to take my written test at DMW. And once I get my license save up until I have about 600 then figure something out. Any advice on when I should buy a bike (like how much saved up) and if I should get used or new? Im kinda picky so I wouldn't want something that looks anything less than the new Ninja's.
 
08 and 09 are the same but you go with the 08 you save like 400 500 $

and the 09 would be nice becouse you can get a new one but the 08 it might be used so i would go with the 09 i wanted one a few months back but i got busy so yeah
