after my motorcycle sits overnight in the garage, it has a heck of a time trying to start in the morning. i JUST put a brand new battery in it yesterday, so that isn't the problem. it only has an electric start. the carbs were cleaned about 5 months ago also. other than using starting fluid, what can i do to get it to fire up easier?
The bike is a 1982 Kawasaki KZ550 LTD. I do use the choke when starting it. Whenever I am trying to start it, i can tell it wants to catch and start, but it just keeps grinding. i can use starting fluid and it starts up very easily, but i don't like using it all the time because i have heard that using it over time can ruin compression.
sometimes it will catch, and will run at VERY low RPM's so i will let it sit for a few seconds, but then if you try to give it throttle to pick the idle up a little bit, it will bog down and shut off.
