Kawasaki KX 125 gearbox trouble after oil change?

I changed my oil today after a quick ride, i made sure bike was fully warm and ready for draining. I then drained and replaced. I usually use Putoline SAE80W oil which has always been great, but today i used Motex SAE40W. After putting new oil in i took it out for a spin and i can't change gear at all, it seems as though the selector fork is jammed solid. If i really force it down i can get it into first but it isn't at all how it should be. I wouldn't of though the change in thickness of oil would be a problem but it was working fine before the oil change so i have no idea. Suggestions? any help appreciated.

Check out the recommended oil, use no other!

SAE 40 sounds too low a viscosity, if it was OK before the oil change and faulty after-it's the oil.

Your bike uses 10W40 - use that.
The 2 types of oil may not be compatible - change it again to ensure
that all the 80W stuff is out.
I don't think the oil is the shifting problem.
It may just be a coincidence.
Do no force the shift lever - you will do more damage.
