I'm 17, i recently (6 months ago) took the Basic MSF rider course, and i have obtained my Motorcycle license.. now the only thing that is missing is a motorcycle... !
but i'm on a bit of a budget and i can't decide if the close to extra 1000$ is worth it to buy the 2008 and newer 250r...
as it is my first bike, i will be buying used anyway.. cause i don't necessary want to have to cry the first time i lay it down due to hundreds of dollars wasted in damaged fairing..
so i've found some good deals on some 2008 models.. close to 3000 dollars. but i've also seen many 2007 and later models asking for about 2000....
what would you choose? keep in mind that i plan on keeping the 250cc bike a while longer than 'average'.. many people keep saying that 250cc will get outgrown in a couple months... i disaggree. i have no need to fly past other cars/motorcycles, breaking the law in the process...
but being my first bike, there just comes the issue of inexperience and accidently dropping it.. i should also point out i live on about 1/2 mile of gravel before paved roads.. so is there a huge risk there also?
