I certainly agree with that! Stallone is underrated - I mean the guy writes, directs and stars in movies that pull in huge crowRAB at the box office time after time.
Too many films are sanitised but if you're going to make a film about the genocide that occurs in some countries then you can't pretend it's not ugly.
By the way
what was the calibre of the gun Rambo was using at the end??!
and I loved the way he
managed to detonate the WWII bomb -
classic!!
Also the ending -
it was like full circle to First Blood when you see him walking along the road with his pack.
The only CGI I noticed was the shockwave from the Claymore going off.
There was one very good effect with an exploding head where due to the camera angle making it clear there was no dummy involved, I still don't know how they did it.
Mind you, the dummy head shot on the boat was so early 1980s in terms of special effects that it tarnished the film a bit for me.
Yes a very good film – the bad guys were so bad & you just knew it’s just a mater of time before they get what’s coming, karma. ( A bit like The Magnificent Seven
story – where there seven in the team?) The girl Julie Benz “Darla from Buffy- Angel” was also very good.
Odeon have pulled Rambo from the release schedule (as well as all the trailers and marketing activity) due to a disagreement in terms with Sony Pictures.
It will only be released through Odeon if Sony alter their terms.
I thought special effects were brilliant.
If you like seeing people blown into pieces, or cut in half by machine gun fire etc..
Although, I thought the massacre of an entire village was pretty harrowing actually.
I also really liked the 2 British guys in this (the mercenaries).
There was the one who was constantly swearing - and a bloke who use to be in Coronation Street (I think).
