So I Decided to drop the HD Extra Package and just go with the Digital Extra Package instead

for the price 0f 180 a month for the HD Extra + rental of 2 standard receivers and 1 hd pvr it just wasn't worth it i wasnt impressed with the programming offered with the hd package

My package consists of 14 Theme Packs $55, Premium Movies (East) $16, Super Channel $13, Digital Standard $31, US Networks Time Shift $1, HDTV $10, Digital Service Fee $3. This totals $129, + $30 rental, + Tax 13% for a total of $179.67, I think it's time for another increase from Bell.

What was a dissapointment with the programming. Currently they offer the most HD in Canada. So you won't be able to get much more anywhere else im sorry to day :(

Like I said it is "my impression" you will have to pay for the SD digital standard and themes to get the HD of most new channels. They might offer free previews but "I think" you will need to buy the SD .

Like was suggested you have added 9 themes and the Super Chanel to the topic of the thread.

Gee, and some of us just want the HD pack and nothing else. I can't remember the last time I watched something in the 200's. Has to be several months ago.
I was bitching because my bill is $68 a month.

I believe the original poster was the one that said his package was going to be $180 after his credits ran out. This would suggest that his package would be similar to mine (not a HDTV Extra package). This, as well as being asked, is why I listed my package to show that it is quite possible to put out $180/month for your TV pleasure.

I am no longer an aget so I don't have the info from their system directly...

When I verified on the receiver that was the information I taught I see

You don't need top suscribe to the corresponding theme to get the equivalent SD theme EXCEPT For the sports channels (TSN, ROGERS AND RAPTORS). I don't see why National Geographic and Showcase will be any different. Seeing the way it is already it's easy to see that they would request that you have sports 1 to get The score...if the preview is until January 2009 why to bother right now anyways? There is so many other more important thing to worry!

There are lot's of places for savings in that total package. Dropping US Nets TS will save $1 (they are in the HD package, except for PBS SD.) Dropping 3 theme packs will save $15 (anything over 11 is not as cost effective.) TMN has a rotating quarterly schedule so almost everything can be watched in 3 months. (Series are an exception but you could cancel when none you are interested in are showing.) SC can be treated the same as TMN. I think the HD package is good value. There is a lot of unique programming and the US nets just don't look good in SD.

not really, because it is close to "regular price"...while i am getting a discount for one year, after the one year is up, by Bundle discount will kick in for these products (15%) keeping it similar in price to what it is now...if i was getting 30-40% off, then yes, i would say they were dropping their pants.

Yes, you are quite right but then I risk getting shot by the rest of the family members.

So according to You , I don't have to subscribe to News and Learning 2 and Variety 1 to get Discovery HD and A&E HD .I guess I will call BEV on monday and cancel those 2 themes and save $10.00 , thanks.
