No they don't! It was kind of last in the line of the "schlock horror" genre, and one of the most intelligent and witty examples. The use of floor effects rather than CGI also add to its power IMO. You can't help marvelling at the inventiveness of the special effects - some guy(s) had to come up with designs and make them work in the real world rather than sit at a computer doing animation. Your thread has inspired me to try to track it down in the current HMV sale!
