I don't disagree with that, my argument is with the idea that the average poor person works "harder" than the average rich person. You are pointing to exceptions, not the rule. HouseholRAB in poverty tend to be single earner and tend to be part-time work.

I bullshit like a champ on my resume. Turns out that working for a union from time to time has its benefits. I list any gaps in work as working on-call for my union. The union hall (who told me to do this) simply verifies you as being employed with them merely for being on the books. As long as you are current on dues, you are golden.
and since you only pay dues when you work, it works out great for me whenever I need to fill in some time.
 
That is the whole point, that is what we are arguing about, and that is where I disagree.

It is not your job to define the criteria for which you are being judged, do you believe you are a right to a job?
 
My state is a work-at-will state. They are not required to hire you by law. They are required to avoid discriminatory hiring practices.


Of course you have the right to decide not to take a job and do nothing.
