Job listings say the unemployed need not apply

You are right though people should be able to associate with one another because of arbitrary/discriminatory reasons, date because of arbitrary/discriminatoryreasons, choose sexual partners because of arbitrary/discriminatory reasons, buy gooRAB and services because of arbitrary/discriminatory reasons, and choose their employer because of arbitrary/discriminatory reasons...

but what...

someone is going to use arbitrary/discriminatory reasons as the basis for hiring me! Well that should be illegal!

Just an arbitrary way to take freedom away from a group of your fellow citizens.

False Dilemma
A company should never be required to hire someone they don't want to hire.
They should be required to ignore things unrelated to the persons qualifications and ability to do the job.

Employers have a right to hire, or refuse to hire, anyone they want, for any reason they want.

It is the government's rampant violation of the rights of employers that is responsible for destroying the economy and creating high unemployment.

If the government implements more anti-discrimination laws to forbid employers from "discriminating" against the unemployed, you will continue to see your job prospects diminish. Positions that would expose employers to lawsuits from disgruntled job applicants will simply never be advertised in the first place. Employers will either stick to hiring people from within their own networks or not hire at all.

Seriously. Anyone that has a good job. I dare you to take your resume and wear a suit and take your lunch break. Go into 3 companies in your area and ask to speak with a hiring manager.

Let me know how it goes.

Tell that to 10,000 people who just got laid off from Cisco because their COMPANY made a poor decision to compete in the consumer products market. Shit even AOL laid of 900 people, mostly in NoVA because of their incompetence and the merger with the Huffington Post.

ok...so you don't have to read my posts cuz that's funny.

My point was, even after hiring or making an offer, companies should not have access to my credit info unless I am:
A) In a financial related job
B) Being hired into a management job

If I'm non-management worker, there's simply no correlation between credit rating and job performance so they should NOT be allowed to even ask for my credit score.

I said government protects rights. This implies the right preexists.
The bill of rights does not protect businesses. Business do not have rights as they are not individuals. Running a business is a privilege in this nation.
The government does not guarantee employment. They guarantee equal access to it.

Heaven forbid a company be forced to abide by the same rules they play by. Making people adhere to the contracts they sign. Say it ain't so.
