[Japanese] What's an appropriate level of politeness to use on the Internet?

ehhh check nicovideo, see what people use there
i dont normally converse in japanese on the internet (dont no enough without pulling out dictionary every 30 secs)
but i would prob go with like polite male form (im a guy *duh*) but like wouldnt be like... ???????... well idk its hard to say
