Given the choice between learning either of the two languages, which would you choose and why? I'm trying to decide which to take for my undergraduate language requirement and I'm having some difficulty deciding. I've always admired Japanese culture, but I'm thinking about going into medical research and I know how developed South Korea is in that field. I don't mean to seem ignorant, but I also don't know much about South Korean culture (modern or otherwise). So, if you could, would you mind also describing South Korean culture in terms of its similarities to Japanese and American cultures (mostly pop culture)? Thank you so much for your help, any honest comments/thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.
