Jamie Oliver's American Food Revolution CH4 Mondays 10pm

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I only got round to watching this last night....

Thank god that this program seems to have left out all the 'coming ups' and 'previously on's that usually blight any documentary these days. It really is a breath of fresh air....

Why plates get broken when dropped, treated roughly.
The can (should) be eating off proper plates at home, not that I can see the 'value' in eating off china rather than plastic other than it's nicer.

More worried about what goes on the plate/tray and not eating finger food myself.

Family values, Jamie? What one where children are treated as children and given good food and educated that they are expected to eat it?

Good luck with that in this new generation where children dictate to the parents what is what.

Easy enough, since he even admits that "Thankfully, chicken nuggets in this country are not made this way." before he does it.

Even McDonalRAB uses only breast meat in their mcnuggets.

Ha,ha. I read another N.American forum where drivers of cars comment, amongst other things, on the comfort of their car seats and believe me, they quote their weights and height and believe me, they're big, BIG AND BIG.

We know, for a fact that there is a huge (BIG) problem with people there who can't, it seems, control their appetites or eat the correct diet.

No knife and fork up to the age of 10 .... my daughter (4) learned to use a knife and fork at nursery, and now she is at school she uses them there....

I watched this in April/May and loved the whole series. I was a fairly healthy eater and like to cook, but this show inspired me to eat healthier and really think about what I'm putting in to my body.

I've been cooking a lot more since then, I guess I just want to get in to some good habits before I have my own children. My mother made all our meals from scratch, as did my father, we all ways ate well but when I left home I fell in to some bad habits :p I have to start with myself first, then I can teach my kiRAB (should I have any) to eat right.

I'll be watching the series again on Channel 4 because I loved it so much. Last year, Jamie's American Road Trip was one of my favourite shows, I have a lot of time for Jamie Oliver, his heart is in the right place I reckon.

After watching his culinary journey through the Deep South and pretending to be so offended by hearing the N-word, I have a feeling he's going to be even more irritating tonight.

The show is meant to be shocking, and they had thousanRAB of schools to choose from to make sure they made their point. Pizza isn't really an acceptable everyday breakfast food (although people may occasionally have cold pizza left over from the night before). It's not really a cultural difference, it's just a sign of the poor state of many school meal programs.
