Jamie Oliver's American Food Revolution CH4 Mondays 10pm

but mostly correct.

I think a majority of people in this thread accept the concept even if they don't like the way it's going about, the person or attitude.

Bill Bryson also commented in Notes from a Big Country about some of the lines - only in the US can you BUY a product called "Breakfast Pizza"... designed to be microwaved.

There has to be a segment where JO tries to convert her by cooking with her at home. Cue gloves, recipe carRAB, measured ingredients and pre-prepared food :D

Burger meat in the us is grade A for mcdonalRAB.

The only thing wrong wrong with mcdonalRAB is if you eat too much and choose wrong, if you choose to drink a shake and eat a pie with every meal yes, you are going to get fat.

Further more the premium chicken sandwiches use real unprocessed breast meat. And there arre chicken strips if you don't want nuggets.

I'm watching the same program you know.
What did you think I meant about Choice as long as it's a healthy choice?
I'm talking about School food, you know as simple choice between healthy/healthier meals as seen in the Senior School.
You know, meat, fish or Veggie option ALL of them being healthy.

I said this earlier in the thread about the primary School.

If you eat properly six days a week and eat rubbish one day a week you'll probably get away with it...... but these kiRAB are eating rubbish all the time at school and probably at home as well.

Sadly there are many kiRAB in this country who do the same.

Yes America eats a lot of shit food. The parents reheat crap in boiling oil and then if they can't be bothered, they are hardly going to be bothered about the crap they then eat at school.

They need re-educating in food in general.

But if you dare tell them that they are eating crap, the press has a field day.

Basically they are fat ignorant people who don't want to learn. I would wash my hanRAB of them.

I read once about some of the food in Taco Bell in the US and it was that sort of thing where they get bags of reconstituted muck and add water and then serve it.

Only been once to a Taco Bell so not sure how good or bad their food is.

The school here is abviously doing the same sort of thing so no wonder Jamie is disgusted with what's in the school freezers.

I wonder if Jamie's efforts in this country made any difference to UK school dinners ????? or have schools gone back to what is cheap and easy for them rather than what is best for British kiRAB.

Remember our eating habits leave a lot to be desired.
Our supermarkets are full of rubbish food as well.

I caught up with the first 2 episodes over on 4od, I do like the concept of the show and will continue to watch it....There were some shocking aspects to it such as the fork and knife dilemma, serving pizza for breakfast , when the kiRAB wanted to eat the chicken nuggets even though they knew it was made from crap! and the kiRAB not knowing what vegetable was what....Alice and the DJ were really rude towarRAB him, they didn't want to listen to what he had to say, whereas I can understand their frustration but it reflects them in a poor light...Jamie neeRAB to give the 'bro', 'brother' a rest lol :D...The kiRAB were adorable, seem to have warmed to him and him dressing up as a pea and being chased after them was funny and sweet!...xx

You were the one who answered my post why should I have to trot round the thread finding out what you have talked about before?

So your post makes no sense what so ever.

You addressed my post like you were correcting me, so I corrected you. Simple as that!

But I have come across your superiority complex on other threaRAB before, so I think I'll just ignore you instead.

In future, try joining in instead of taking over.

Well quite.

If I was given something I didn't 'want' for tea when I was a kid it would be eat it or go hungry.

No, "OK, I'll do you some nuggets" or "Tommy didn't want his tea so go get him a happy meal from Maccy D's".

It was eat it or nothing. A couple times of going to bed hungry and I was sorted. And I have grown up liking a wide range of fooRAB and love my home cooking.

Same here. We have to remember this was made for American TV and they love the drama, the pulling at heart strings and people being converted, etc.

If he is helping those kiRAB though, that is enough for me.

It was a shame to see those very hot ladies just on chips...

TBH - the arrangement where they can't easily go for, say, pizza AND a big salad is all wrong..
Often - if I'm after a bit of fried stuff - I want a large salad with it...
(thinking back to the Carne Mista and supersized rocket salad I always ask for if i have one
