J and J Present: How To [Blank] In 7 Easy Tracks

My mix is quite slow and was fashioned with the whole scenario as plotline. Specks in the sky- government procastination-asserabling the troops-battle and finality. I am only pointing this out as my mix was extremely hard work and may lack focus and pace :(

Heh. I have really similar memories of the Everly Brothers. My dad had some really, really long best of cassette of theirs that we always used to listen to in his pickup truck when I was tagging along on trips to construction sites with him. A couple other tapes I also remeraber him listen to a lot were Endless Summer by the Beach Boys and that Rolling Stones best of album that had the picture of the head inside the head inside the head on the cover.

I liked the way your second half went...certainly scarier than the first . And the Bong-Ra track was a killer! Send it this way too if you don't mind :D.

Janszoon
I think all your choices were solid. The pig destroyer track is great, but fails to scare me. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Daisy Chainsaw, Sunn 0))) and Skinny Puppy on the other hand...yikes! Sunn 0))) certainly ripped through my skull. And the Swans track has this uneasy feel about it.

I did know what to expect from most of these (save for Jackhammer's second half alone), but that doesn't take anything away from the experience. I think the next one should be a guessing game.

Gotta say, great mix's by both you guys.

Janszoon's mix was kinda darker in my mind.
First song set the tone really well, and then the Pram song...never heard of them, but that song was just amazing...totally hypnotizing. Loved the horns.
Meg Lee Chin at the end was great. I used to love her music years ago, but forgot about her recently. Great stuff, I really need to get that cd.

As far as Jackhammers mix...very smooth and mellow, most of it. Thought it worked really well.
The Mingus song matched perfectly the kinda music I envisioned when I read the title of this list.
The Everything But The Girl song towarRAB the end was another standout.
I'd never heard the Lloyd Cole song at the end, but that was just fantastic. I put that one repeat as I wrote this :D. Perfect closing song imo.
