we had a 1991 Lincoln town car that used oil and a 1994 crown vic that uses oil and a 2000 expedition that uses a little oil not as much as the lincoln and the crown vic but it uses a little oil do all ford 4.6L engine uses oil or is it just me
a lot of oil

All cars use oil. But the real problem is that you've owned a lot of old 4.6s. It is true that after 75k miles fords tend to burn oil off, and have break issues;however, it's better that valve leaks and engine rocking in chevys, fuel pumps electronics and gasket issues in pontiacs, suspension issues in toyotas, repair costs in mazdas, etc. All in all every manufacturer has their weak points, just feel glad you only have to buy an $8 thing of oil for this problem and not a couple hundred for others.

May try adding new seals on the cylinder heads. A couple bucks, but a lot of work and engine knowledge needed. It stopped oil burn on my 96 T-Bird

You could have bad valve guides or a leaking valve cover gaskets.
At first I was like this dude is an idiot for saying that but then I read the description and then understood.

"seals on the cylinder heads"... WTF?

You've had some bad luck and I'm wondering if you're doing something that causes this... perhaps the wrong weight oil? Gimmick oil additives? Not changing the oil every 5,000 miles or so? Leaving the engine running a lot sitting still?

All engines do use oil via the PCV system but should not be anything you notice between oil changes (if you're changing the oil properly). Other than that, you may have a leak somewhere.

No, the 4.6 does not consistently use noticeable oil.
