You keep claiming how the UN has done this and that saying Israel is wrong but you aren't recognizing the part where the UN sees the Sheeba farms as part of the Golan Heights, therefore part of Syria. What somebody says orally now a days doesn't count for shit. Everything has to be done through official channels. Hell, you said in your quote, "Syria fears that recognizing the Shebaa territory as Lebanese will allow Lebanon to negotiate a separate deal with Israel."
Syria does not want peace....they are better off having Israel fighting Hezbollah than they are if there was peace. Syria can easily go to the UN and officially claim Sheeba farms as Lebanese but that could possibly lead to peace so they won't do that.
You are being naive if you really think that Hezbollah or Hamas would calm down if Israel backed out. Yeah, Hamas said they would, but I trust them about as much as I trust Osama. Most leaders in that area exxagerate the truth if not outright lie.
