But the Hague Convetion (the one that actually governs how war is fought) states:

I love how certain people are bound to these magical rules of "civilized" war, but yet others can randomly launch rockets into the general vicinity of their enemy and send people into crowded markets and busses to blow themselves up and that's ok because "it's the only way they can fight".

We were talking about the government of a country having the duty to protect its own citizens. If that means going after the group responsible, then so be it.
Innocent people may die, they always do, but that doesn't mean you should just ignore being attacked.
Also, this isn't some random, one time event. Israel has been dealing with terrorist attacks since their inception.

I think that what Israel is doing is going too far and that they are not going to achieve anything with this (what could they possibly achieve, the last time they occupied Lebanon resulted in the creation of hezbolah).
I agree some form of retribution needed to occur, but not on this scale, not a full invasion.
