True. Like I said, I'm all for freedom of speech and freedom of religion and all that. I think it's alright to depict Muhammad. I have no personal objection to that. I mean, it doesn't offend ME.
But I'm just saying, if you're doing something to offend people, you shouldn't be surprised when they're offended. If you're being an ass, don't be surprised when people treat you like an ass. It's not okay to threaten violence and death, but it's ALSO not okay to be an ass. I mean, you have a RIGHT to be an ass if you want to, but... like I said, don't be surprised when people respond to that.
Exactly. Shooting people in the face is WAY out of line. Clearly. But that doesn't make it alright to insult people in the first place.
Yes, I know it's South Park's thing to offend and insult. I'm totally fine with that. But they're not just innocent victims in this whole thing. It's like, someone runs up to you and starts cracking jokes about your mother (or something very important to you in a sense), and when you get pissed off, they say - it's just a joke, you should chill out!
There's doing things to be funny and there's doing things to be an ass, and showing Muhammad... wasn't really funny. There was no joke. The joke was that they were offending people. And I'd say that's just being an ass.
