Is this too much Public kissing and affection, or just going with the culture?

So my girlfriend is Brazilian and we went to visit her home country of Brazil for the 1st time. She is not modest about public affection, but when we were in Brazil, it was on extra high overdrive! Everywhere we went we were passionately kissing, and nobody seemed to care.

Probably the most intense was when we were at the beach, even though there were lots of people around, she started laying on top of me and kissing passionately. I just went with it, and after a while i was instigating as much as she was, as we took turns laying on top of each other, kissing very passionately, off and on for hours even though people were all around us, and nobody seemed to notice, as if we were just another couple enjoying ourselves

We would on in the water too and embrace and kiss passionately even as people swam around us, nobody seemed to care. Nobody seemed to notice we were being completely within the norms.

I certainly am not usually this open about PDA, but I just went with while i was there, and certainly enjoyed myself!

So if you are not used to this in your home culture, would you be ok with this if you went somewhere where it was more acceptable?
 
When in Rome do as the Romans....I would be ok with it. My thinking is why do people have to smooch in public all the time. I mean, how many smooches does one need? I had a cousin who would just dribble over his lady friend in public. They got married but eventually divorced.
