Is this discrimination?

Since I started to work for this place I tuck in my uniform shirt, but I noticed that girls use the shirt anyway they want, the supervisor never tells them anything about it, one day I was wearing my shirt out of my pants and when he saw me he told me I had to tuck it in. I said to him that not everybody did it, he said "the girls?" and I said yes does it make a difference and he said, yes. Not sure if he understood my point, but I left it at that. Anybody has any opinions? I am a guy, but regardless, I think the supervisor should expect everyone to wear the uniform the same way, in this case he favors the girls, and because they are girls seems to be the reason that is okay for them to wear the uniform as they please.
Thanks your feedback would be appreciated.
Forgot to mention, this is not a case where the girls are using skirts or dresses, they are also wearing pants like the guys, so the more reason I thought they should wear the shirt like the guys
