I have been renting an apartment now for 3 months and the tenants downstairs have been terrible. Loud music daily and recently we got into an argument. I called the landlord and she had told me that if she knew I was "American" she would have not rented the apartment to me. She and the tenants are Mexican and I have no problem with that. I am latin-american and can't believe I was treated this way. Especially from people who deal with racism every day. Why would they do that? Anyways, do I have legal rights here? Can I complain somewhere? I have no idea what to do.
