I got 2 Directed (skeptical) 12'' subs in a ported box, and a cheap amp to power them, with a 1200 watt 8 gauge wire kit, will it work or sound good, heres specs

lmao no way possible, thats only a 2 channel 150 watt amp lololol those subs have an rms rating of 600 watts, that amp only gives out 150 rms watts to 2 channels, your going to need at least a 1500 watt 2 channel amp, under-powering subwoofers is a bad thing.. get between 1500-2000 watt 2 channel amp or a 1000 watt monoblock amp and just wire your subs into a single 2 ohm load

dont get that amp, youll ruin the subs by under-powering them

and another note.. get different subs.... those arent even great :/ go with a well-known name brand..

I think it wil sound pretty good, here's why

The kenwood amp will put out 460watts bridged @ 4ohms
That is real power kenwood doesn't lie, like so many other companies do.

So if you wire both subs down to 8ohms and then connect them together you will show a 4ohm load at the amp. This way you will get 460watts and your amp will not over heat.

You will get 230 watts to each sub, that is far from the max that these subs are able to handle but, enough to make them hit pretty hard.See you don't need as many watts to make a sub hit in a ported as you do in a sealed box.

I hope this helps
