The boogeyman.. hm..

Well, here in Sweden there's a lady we call "Black madame"
You splash some water on the mirror in the bathroom, lock the door and turn off the lights and say "black madame, black madame, black madame come to us" And then she's supposed to show herself and scratch you, bite you or kill you. Well, hurt you.

Kind of like "bloody mary" in the US i think..

The Bogeyman is actually the Tooth Fairy. Mr. Teatime tried to use him to assinate Santa Clause (Hogfather)

well in mex culture we have la llorona ( the crying lady ) who apparently her kids died and now after shes gone still looks for her kids crying so we tell our children be good or la llorona will get you or el cu cuy which is the boogey man

I WOULD SAY YES...FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

it gives me the shivers just thinking back on it.
it went on from the time i was 5 to about 10 or 11 years old. it was always either behind the window outside above my head or in my closet. i only saw it once. i was around 8 or 9 years old. it was about 7 feet tall, wispy and misty like a cloud, grayish, white, and black, and had very large red eyes. it just came out of my closet and hovered there for about a minute, then went back in my closet. i was petrified. my parents never believed me.

sorry, i can't talk about it anymore. i hope this helped.
