Is there a film that EVERYONE likes?!

heehee I liked your spoiler. I'm not sure if you are being entirely serious. Anyway my thought is that you aren't meant to take the film in such a logical way. Of course he would notice that no one was talking to him or looking at him etc etc if he was in his right state of mind.

But since he is a *cough cough ahem you know what* the rules of logic don't apply like that. I tended to think it was like he was existing in a sort of dream-state, like the moment when you just wake up but aren't fully conscious. So he would have these encounters with the boy and his wife but in between times wouldn't exist as such in a conscious plane of blah blah I will stop talking arse now.

By the way I'm not a big fan of the film or anything, mostly because some bastard revealed the secret before I had seen it.

I'd agree with Back to the Future.

Can't believe Indiana Jones has appeared on here - I absolutely loathe those films! Apart from anything else, they are full of snakes etc, so definitely lacking in univeral appeal!

It'd be interesting to make the opposite of this thread "Is there a film everyone hates?"

I'd start the ball rolling with say (off the top of my head):-
Peter's FrienRAB
Forest Warrior (Chuck Norris)
FX/2 - The deadly art of illusion
Art of War (Wesley snipes)
Inspector Gadget
Don't tell mom the babysitter's dead

I'd then wait approxomately a few posts to then watch other posters immediatly disagree with me.

sbgraa: that's the best rebuttal to my rantings on Sixth Sense I've heard yet so well done! Thing is I love all MKS other movies and will defend the dodgy plot holes in them furiously :D

Did anyone not like any of the following films? To qualify as an Official Doubter, you have to have seen a film through to the end and think that it was no better than average.

See, these films are ones I've consistently found that people like. Lots of extremely popular films some people don't like such as The Godfather, since they are violent and some people just don't like violent films, or Lord of the Rings cos it is fantasy, Star Wars kiRAB sci-fi etc. It has to have universal appeal.

So how about:

THE PRINCESS BRIDE
GROUNDHOG DAY
THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
TOY STORY (I)
THE SIXTH SENSE
BACK TO THE FUTURE (I)

That'll do to start...

Haven't seen any of those! Sounded so bad I didn't want to waste my time.

The only film I can think of - off hand - that I truly hate is The Sound of Music. I'd rather eat my own eyeballs than sit through that durge.

Oh and anything by Guy Richie, James Bond movies - doesn't matter which Bond it is - and any movie with boxing in it or Sly Stallone.

I know the film that everyone who has seen it has enjoyed it.
It is my mums wedding, they all watched it after the event and wanted copies then my brother recorded over the top of it with saturday morning telly and its never been seen since. so technically this is the film that everyone loves (who has seen it)

Wizard of Oz
Harvey
Paper Moon
Mary Poppins

....??

sixth sense was utter twaddle. but that is only my opinion. i've said it once and i'll say it again. how does shyamalan keep getting work?

Take off Sixth Sense, cos I loathe it! Utterly, utterly ridiculous.
How did he get out of hospital? His wife hasn't spoken to him since he was shot? No one has spoken to him since he was shot? What was he eating? Just beggars belief!

No problem with the others though :D

Edit: beaten :)
