is the SKODA Octavia 1.9 TDi Elegance a good value for money?

Good cars, but if you're buying secondhand be aware that a new clutch/DMF can cost over £1000 so ask if it's been done.
Also these are often used as minicabs so check for signs of hard use and a well worn rear seat.

My friend has recently bought a used 2005 estate version and is very happy with it.
Great mpg, all the extras including a multi CD player and only £35 road tax ! for £7000.

I have been connected with the motor body repair business for many years and I am impressed by the build quality of the car. Scoda is owned by VW and the car uses the same engine etc: as the Golf.

If the police, taxi firms and emergency services use them, they are good value for money .
