Is the media more interested in creating a negative stereotype in Muslims

than educating people in real Islam? Is the media primarily interested in sound bytes and "wow factor"? All the Muslims I've met in real life have been awesomely kind and spirtual.

I agree with you. My impression has been mostly good from those I've met in real life.

But the fear works for them and it sells great to the bigots who watch the same media everyday for more garbage and believe that its completely true and balanced.
 
I agree. although I do think the media has gotten better about the way they portray Muslims since 9/11. But it is sad that there are so many misconceptions about Islam and Muslims because of the media. but you can't entirely blame it on the media. people have minds of their own. they are not totally incapable of educating themselves about what Islam really is about.
