Is pub hopping part & parcel of the British culture?

at the minute yes.....

we're in booze briton or so they say.

i'm more of a cans from the supermarket kind of guy.

sit at home and smoke
 
they should make their minds up. one minute they say that pubs are closing down at the rate of 500 a week, next minute we're all pi$$ed in the pub all day.
 
i don't think drinking excessively can be termed as 'culture'. Am sure the Brits have more to them than just drinking.
