Is it wrong to throw buckets of custard at the bride and groom outside the church?

Did you do it? Then yes, you should be held responsible. Did others join in? Then they are also to be held accountable. Your actions, your responsibility.

The father-in-law of my friend's new wife came to my door this afternoon, with a bill for some dry cleaning. He also thumped me on the nose.
Why would he do such a thing? I hear you ask. Well, at the wedding on Saturday, some chums from the Raffles Club and I threw two buckets of lukewarm custard on the bride and groom as they exited the church. It didn't go down well, and when I sprayed 'Piggy and Horse-face' on the wedding car, this seemed to make the tensions worse.
Should I be held responsible for some innocent japery?

uhmm well i dont think that was the wisest thing to do especially the "piggy and horse -face" thing. i think you should apologise but not to the idiot that hit you :)
