...milk that ones perception of ...? ... of having his sins forgiven, his conscience purged of sin, so that he could fellowship with God?

Isn't the prerequisite of fellowship with God a pure conscience a heart filled with Love and faith unfeigned and unblemished; from which one is able to answer the high calling of God?
