...have a lot to make up (I'm 22)? I strongly regret not planning for my future when I was younger and taking school seriously and dedicating myself to my studies. I am paying the price now and it is my fault, I'm not blaming it on somebody else. I have just turned 22 years old and I am very uneducated (not illiterate, just ignorant on many things). Part of this has to do with the fact that I gave up on life several years ago and spent a lot of time sleeping and just waiting to die. I looked to the future and came to the realization that it was useless to persist at trying to accomplish anything. I lacked meaning at the time. I am still trying to find meaning, but I have decided not to give up.

I have a lot of ground to make up. I am way behind where I should be. I cannot hold an adult conversation. It is hard to relax because I am so frantically trying to learn things. I wish I had the same attitude toward education when I was in school, but I did not at the time and wishing won't work.

One thing I am worried about is that there may not be enough time to make up for the gaps in my education and still have anything resembling a life.
I am also worried about going to school and being laughed out of the place and taken advantage of because of my ignorance. I am trying to steel my mind to the point where I'm impervious to any insults or lack of support, but it is a painful thought.

I want to be a psychiatrist.
