Is it normal for a car audio capacitor to read more than 12volts?

I have a scosche 2 farad capacitor and the voltage readout said im running 14.3 and some times 14.5. it drops when the bass hits but goes back to those numbers. i have the orriginal altenator and battery on the 99 civic.
