Is it against the law to let go (lay off)full time workers and keep temp employees. And

the kicker is the temp? is the new bosses son and I was there 17 years or is it what ever goes?????????/
 
Sounds legal to me. I note the lady below who mentions some of what a Union can do for you. More people need to get on the ball and fight for their rights... preferably during fat times.
 
unless you have a union or individual contract -- it is whatever goes in America.

of course, you may report the matter to the boss' boss -- if there is one. Many companies dislike nepotism so much that the person who does it gets fired [for cause]. You might even get the boss' job then!
