Hello,

When I was in elementary school and middle school, i used to play soccer and I was really good. I stopped playing and joined track team for all of high school so far. I am a junior right now. I was recently with my friends playing football and I tried kicking field goals and I found it easy. I was able to hit a 35 yard field goal just playing around. Is it a good idea to try out to be the Varsity High School Kicker because I think I can go somewhere with it. Thanks.
I can kick it over the field goal post, lol. i was kicking straight on and it hurt but i was told to do "soccer style" and its so much more accurate from 35. i wasn't even wearing cleats and i wanna play so badly but my parents really don't agree with football.
also using an orange holding thingy to kick with.

lol @ rickdvd. he took the words out my mouth. you have a good chance if you can prove it in an opportunity. Good luck man

add on- bro a kicker is the least dangerous position in football. talk to your parents. you couldmake a great living kicking balls.

That's actually a pretty respectable distance for high school. If you could add on about 10 yards, you'd be very useful. Keep on practicing and definitely try out. It might be good to see what your kick-off distance is, as well.

Sounds like a plan. As long as you can remember it's OVER the bar, not under as in Soccer. As long as you can make your kicks with consistency. Also, the longer your kicks, the more chances of you being able to play at the next level.

Sure it's a good idea. You can't use the orange thingy. 35 yards is an OK start for a soocer player. Google to find some good instructions. The correct mechanics that you see on TV are deceiving. Kicking correctly you can easily increase your distance, but not necessarily your accuracy, 20 - 25 yards. Actually, it doesn't matter what kind of shoes you wear.
