Is Inception worth watching or is it a big pile of overhyped nonsense about nothing!!

You illustrated perfectly why this movie is worth seeing, and why it got mixed reviews.

Firstly, congratulations on getting married!

It's not a typical summer blockbuster, you can't just sit back and watch the explosions and car chases. You need to pay attention to follow the plot. It's not over-complicated though, and the scenes ARE related to each other, but I can appreciate how this was missed by many critics and others who had their mind on other things :)

Surely you can't hate a film because of ;lack of humour I mean Shawshank Redemption wasn't exactly praised for its comical moments.

Also Christopher Nolan began writing the idea for Inception 10 years ago and finished at some point during 2007/8 so any connection to Shutter Island is coincidental

Unrelated scenes? No plot?

Was I watching the same movie?

Go and watch the film and make your own decision on it. I would highly recommend it-it's my favourite film this year.

I didn't mention Shutter Island but now that you mention it the scenes with the dead wives were incredibly similer and equally as iritating.

I have to dissagree with you about Shawshank being humourless. There are plenty of moments that make me smile in that film. When I say I want some humour I'm not asking for comedy just a bit of wit and charm. Inception didn't have that.

Mixed reviews? I don't think i've read a single legitimate critics review where it's rated any less than 4 out of 5 stars.

As for the "no plot" complaint: what?!? It's probably the most densely plotted film i've seen this year, if you miss a single minute of the film you're completely lost.

What do you mean? So, you're asking for advice on whether to see it, and you don't even intend to to to the cinema? If you intend to watch by other means, why the big fuss over whether it's worth seeing? And why can't I seem to finish a sentence without a question mark?
