I run a computer business, and twice now when I helped clients from India, they complained about the price and tried to negotiate it down. At first I thought they were just being greedy, since my prices are very reasonable, but now I am wondering if it is a part of their culture to barter over prices. I know that India has many sub-cultures, so I asked the second client what town they were from, and they said Madras, in southern India.
I am wondering if it would make more sense for me to deliberately overcharge when I help a client from India, and then let them negotiate the price down to the amount that I actually want.
Please, no mean or racist answers- I am earnestly trying to understand this, and any info would be helpful. Also, tell me if you are from India. (btw, I am in the United States)
