That's what I heard, that all of you see it as "acting white". So is acting like a jungle jumper the proper way of acting black? Why do you even put down your own blacks that act police and call them "white washed"? Is there a certain standard where your stupid enough to be considered black?

I know many of the blacks here are considered black enough in their ghetto's, so please explain this to me. It's a very hard concept to grasp.

No. The issue of being civilized is based more upon age than race and the environment your raised in. For some reason I sense your being silly but I'll play just in case.

I am a black woman raised middle class and I am civil, but its due to my parents getting in my butt at an early age. Yes I have been accused of acting white, been accused of being a lot of things. So what, who cares. I am a proud black woman and Im not out to prove myself to anyone who isnt writing my checks. Why do some black people put other black people down? Same reason why any other race does it, ignorance and insecurity.

Most negative stereotypes you hear are fed by white media. Yes it is black actors and rappers saying the crap, but most of it is decided by their record label and guess what color the boss is? Not black.

I have seen seen uncivilized behavior among other black people, mainly of low income, but its not a large percent as people prefer to think. Plus consider that people act one way around their friends and another way in certain situations. Most have more common sense than the world gives them credit for.

But I have seen very uncivilized behavior of well to do white people too. The cursing at the parents, the women kissing and feeling on each other at the club, etc. Black people are stereotyped as never marrying but white people are sterotyped for only marrying for money and the women staying medicated to deal with the horrible reality of marriage while smiling and trying to paint their life as perfect.

All races have negative stereotypes that some play into. Take the time to find the good in a race instead of listening to what you hear.

My sister and me are biracial (black & mexican), but for some reason she's always called me white girl and even today she makes fun of me saying I don't know where I come from which I find odd due to our parents raised us in a nice suburb in a large home. I married a Swedish man and she married a black man. I go to wine tastings, operas, ballets, love all sorts of music from kenny chesney to black eye peas, I speak proper english and record many automated voicemails for companies because I have that kind of voice but my sister loves anything black, goes to anything african related, and speaks with numerous slang words.

I really dislike how my sister treats me...always have, but I figured it out. Its because she is so unhappy with herself and her life. Our family agrees that she is the most unhappiest person and finds joy in belittling others. I love my sister, but she believes that being black is to be obnoxious towards others and I feel that being black doesn't mean you have to cruel or give attitude. Black is just a color; it does not define the person inside. I asked her, does it mean that being half mexican that you have to act a certain way...she says no. So I chalk it up to unhappiness with self.

I go to an hbcu and we recently had bishop derek t. triplett speak to our school. he was talking about how disgusted he was when he heard a black person referred to as white because they spoke eloquently and i agreed very much with this. in my first experience in public school (predominantly black) in 7th grade, i became the 'designated white girl' of my group because i spoke properly and carried myself appropriately. i began to accept it until i told my parents about it, which they responded that i should tell them that they were ignorant for putting their own race down by implying that only white people were smart and all other races were naturally inferior - of course, that only made them think i was more white, and that i thought i was better than them because of my whiteness. (some of the dumbest stuff i've ever heard) in my afamhis class we spoke of the hamitic hypothesis which gave me more insight on this topic
http://www.usfca.edu/rhetcomp/journal/sharp2004.pdf check it out it's quite interesting. anyway....unfortunately some blacks have been conditioned to think that being black means being dumb and ignorant, i dont know how it can be fixed it on such a wide scale but it needs to be done. it would be cool if it were done before i died.

To answer your question...No. Now, to eat you out on your ignorant question: Do you honestly notice how insulting and idiotic this question is? If you don't, you must be deranged. You are implying that all blacks live in the ghetto. You should be talking about the ghetto in general, which is NOT all black people. I never told anyone or been called being civilized is acting white. I just call it civilized. I do not live in the ghetto, and you don't know jack-sh!t about the ghetto even if it slapped you in the face. So, you might want to rephrase your question to just ghetto people and not blacks.
