I found out this morning that Take That are now claiming to be the 'best British band since the Beatles', this got me really worked up. The reason being is, a band is not a group of people who don't play instruments. That is a group. I'm aware that Gary Barlow does play an instrument, maybe two, but that's besides the point, Take That are a Pop Group, not a band. The X-Factor has ruined the music industry to some extent, I mean, yes I get that it's good for some people who never had a chance before to get noticed, but where's the passion this? I don't understand how people who have been binmen for years, and then get on X-Factor and cry when they've been kicked out saying "Singing is all I want to do, it means the world to me." If it meant that much to them, surely they'd be out trying to promote their name, and singing in bars and what ever as well, because that's what they love doing. I'm a musician myself, and I hate that music is being degraded by the pop-culture. Who's with me? Who's against my points? Speak up, there's nothing like a hearty debate to put a bit of spice into anyone's day!

Right on brother ... if you cant even play a guitar you dont belong in the music biz. These days if yer daddy has enough money you can be a star. Tragic. Worst part is idiots ... like some of these other answers ... will blindly follow when they're told its cool.

Its good to see ur wasting ur life away gettin 'really worked up' over something of such importance!!! Sort ur buzz out mate

Lukas...get over urself mate....if u need the definition af an idiot take a look in the mirror, im a free spirit and dont follow anyone bud!!

I do agree with you, but don't forget that even back in the 'good old days' bands were also heavily managed and we were manipulated in a similar way to nowadays. It's just now it is so much more obvious and open that it is happening.
