i just got my motorcycle license and am looking to get a nice beginner bike. i live in a large city and am just wanting to ride it around town to improve my skills. i was wondering what experienced motorcyclists thought
just got my mc licinse and am looking for a fun beginner dual sport. it needs to do well on trails but also be able to comfortably go at 55 mph

in a large city.. so why get a dirt bike?

klr250 is ok depending on age & service history..

but if your riding on the tarmac.. get a bike thats designed to do that..

The KLR250 is a stone reliable design. It was in production for over 20 years. It will run at highway speeds, with nothing in reserve, however. It is also capable on the trails. A guy rode one on one of my Copper Canyon trips; he was able to keep up on the highway runs and did very well in the mountains.

It lacks an electric start, but that is only important to old guys with crispy knees. If you have a particular example in mind at the right price, go for it. If you haven't found one yet, you will probably do better on price if you are willing to consider a number of different models, increasing your odds of coming across a good deal.

that bike realy has no power i dont think it would be safe to ride in a city its hard to get a reliable up to high way speed pepole will be running you over

55MPH is no problem for the bike, and it will still probably accelerate faster than most econobox's. If its in good shape for a good price buy it, but avoid 65+mph highways and freeways like a plauge.
