Iron Man

i read the review on aintitcool.com and they couldnt praise it enough, can't wait for it.

Never realised that its actually a Marvel Comics production, they've used Paramount as the delivery vehicle for it, but basically its all Marvels work... Marvel must have been sick of film companies making crap versions of their characters

No offence but thank god you're not gonna get your way, they've all signed on for 2 sequels. Like most comic book movies it was great but it set itelf up for bigger better sequels.

There's a lot of stories left to be told, Jim Rhodes becoming War Machine and perhaps Iron Man, Tony Stark's Alcoholism and eventually what every Marvel comic fan is hoping for is the big crossover where we finally get to see a whole load of Marvel Characters on screen together in what will hopefully be an Avengers movie.

A good case is going to be The Dark Knight. That'll be a 12a and you can guarantee little kiRAB'll be in there. And alot of it doesn't look particularly kid friendly.

Saw this last Sunday, brilliant film and hugely enjoyable. We did have quite a few 12 year olRAB with no parents in, but as soon as the lights went down they shut up and there was no nonsense. Have to say not only was it one of the most enjoyable and relaxing times I've had at the cinema, it was also one of the most enjoyable films I have watched in ages. A definite 5/5. Can't wait for Iron Man 2!

We were gonna stay after the credits, but 30 seconRAB in about 10 ushers came in to clean and the lights went on bright so we could hardly see the screen, so it wasn't worth it. YouTube will have to do!

Paddy :D

I loved this film. I must admit, I wasn't looking forward to seeing it at all, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

The humour hit just the right note/wasn't too cheesy & I thought Gwyneth Paltrow was great/had a nice rapport with RDJ. I have to say RDJ was the real surprise for me...he was perfect in the role & proof that picking the right actor makes a huge difference. I'm not sure someone else could've pulled it off so well & it's his take on the character & great action that made this movie a 8.5/10 for me:)

Can't wait to see the sequel, I hope they execute it just as well
& if Sammy L Jackson is in it then fingers crossed it'll be something to look forward to
:D

Saw it today - superbly entertaining!! 9/10

@slyfox51 - I also saw that review in the Mail, yet the Mail on Sunday gave it 4 out of 5! I think the reviewers get to see so many films they don't always appreciate a film the way a fee paying audience does.

Didn't know about the after credits apprearance. I never stay to the end of the credits anyway as the cinema staff are usually in there cleaning the place ready for the next audience!

Yeah! It's hell of a Rare for any Film to ever score anywhere near that high on there.

As I type this it's still @ 94%, but now with 66 Reviews, 62 of which are Fresh and only 4 are Rotten!

I SIMPLY CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS BADBOY!!! Roll on Saturday~~! :D

Nick Fury will be in The Avengers (in 2011). Which will act as Iron Man 3, and also tie in the films Incredible Hulk (which will have a similar post -credit coda), Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America. That's Marvel Studio's plan, anyway.

Saw this tonight and thought that, after the original Superman the Movie , this one vies with Batman Begins as the next best superhero film.

Its got real heart, its quite grown up in its approach and Iron Man as a character is funnier than Spiderman !!! : "Ooh this looks like something important".

Only thing that lets it down is a proper musical theme for Iron Man and the fact that its basically robots fighting each other. Having said that, the film-makers somehow invest real emotion in a man in a metal suit, helped immensely by Robert Downey Junior.

Highlights for me were numerous bit I'd cite :

The First Iron Man appearance.

The Second Iron Man rescue mission

The jet fight/ mobile phone sequence.

The press conference at the end of the movie.

I thought this film was great, can't wait for the sequel. Robert Downing Jr. was perfectly cast. Basically the complete opposite of Nicolas Cage playing Johnny Blaze in "Ghost Rider" He was horrible. Cage merely made an already poor film considerably worse.

Loved the ending revelation by Stark too, so glad they used Sabbath's "Iron Man" for the end credits, a very cool touch. I initially had assumed it would only be appearing in the trailers for the film, but as soon as I heard AC/DC in the opening scenes I had my suspicions it would inevitably be heard at some point. Ramin Djawadi's score was a symphonic rock tour de force. I loved it when Jimmy Page's "Kashmir" was referenced in certain parts of the music. They should try and work the Sabbath title song into the score for the sequel.

Oh yes, before I forget... Stay through the end credits! You won't regret it. :D

I think anyone over a certain age will love the "I am Iron Man" going in to Black Sabbath. It was a perfect ending to a great film :)
