"InuYasha: The Final Act" Talkback (Spoilers)

I know I've said this before, but like many others, I wish they had decided to go for a 49-51 ep series because it just seems that things are moving - maybe not too, but so, - fast that if they had spread it out longer, I don't think it would have felt they were going slow to drag it out. And I am really loving new Inuyasha.

Anyone find that their initial feelings about the OP/ED has changed? I am really linking the ending, so much that I sometimes think about starting a replay just to hear them. I definately will get the OST for this.

BTW, is the groups name that does the ED AAA or am I missing something?

Other than the overoveroverreaction, I agree with you. They were obviously given everything they needed ahead of time and just screwed it up and didn't bother to check on it. It was stupid of them, but I'm sure they'll fix it. It's not like they had to simulcast it in the first place.

I love how you guys overreact when the problem is fixed in less than two hours.

So I saw the episode and it really felt like I never left the show, it was basically the same show but with a new opening and ending. The episode was interesting and I was surprised that
The young Naraku child with the scythe who's name escapes me died right off the bat
and the next week preview made me really sad, "I am the wind..."

I will be staying tune on this, this was actually very enjoyable to watch, and the plot is actually..you know moving.

The episode is now subtitled! FINALLY!

I just finished seeing it. It was a good start. Nice seeing everyone back together. They really did cram a bunch of manga chapters into this. I was happy to see that one of the chracters that I hated die off pretty quickly. Any arguments that this won't end in 26 episdoes should be gone now considering how fast the plot was moving.

I really hope they get through the Mouryoumaru plot quickly because I hated how long his story took in the manga.

Yeah thinking about it now, 26 is more than enough with the speed it went through today. Most of the huge plot points can be hit at the first ten episodes surprisingly. o_o

This week's episode was way better than last week's. Dragon Scaled Tessaiga! Byakuya!

The fight between Dakki and Tessiaga was sweet. I remeraber that in the manga this fight took forever to finish. No doubt if the pacing was like the first series it would have taken two episodes to get it over with while we were given commentary from Miroku and Sango. With the faster episodes the fights don't drag anymore. The voice actor for Byakuya was pretty good, though I was half expecting them to pick a female voice actor when I first read the manga.

Moryomaru is starting to become lame with all times he has retreated. Nice to see Koga team up with Inuyasha and having them both attack Moryomaru. The author really should have introduced the claws much earlier in the series. Sesshomaru makes another cameo. It's interesting that he has appeared in every episode of this new series so far.

The title for episode six is Moryomaru's End. I'm really looking forward to Moryomaru getting killed. The entire subplot with him took very long to finish in the manga and I ended up really disliked it. Moryomaru is going to be around for eight episodes of the anime while he was around for like 100 chapters or two years in the manga. Makes you realize how unnecessary he was in the end.

I agree that this would have been better off with 50-ish episodes. Though I have to wonder, perhaps 26 episodes is all they could get funded for?

AAA is a great band. I've got all their albums. So I was excited to see they were doing the ending theme for Inuyasha.

Here's a link to the J-Pop Wiki page on them.

I wonder if "With You" be replaced with a different song around the half-way point.

These fast episodes sure do make for a lot happening in each one. In one episode, Naraku absorbs Yomeiju, is absorbed by Moryomaru, who then takes Koga's sharRAB, leaving only Kohaku's sharRAB, but Naraku is still alive and absorbs the infant, destroying Moryomaru, and his miasma almost kills Miroku when he tries to suck them into the Wind Tunnel until Inuyasha stops him and Kikyo says she can attempt to purify him.

...

Wow...

The person that started this thread, InuYasha: The Final Act has its own page on Halu and Shonen Sunday. So you should update it.

I am not sure if we should post episode reviews in spoiler tags or not, so for now.

Anyway I enjoyed it, a great episode to welcome us back. Is just me or when InuYasha and Kagome are in our time, their personalities switch. When they are on Kagome's turf, she is the one that yells at Inuyasha, and when they are on Inuyasha it is the opposite.

It seems eveyone hates Naraku? They are fighting one another to see who gets the honor of killing him. LOL

It is a nice reunion of Sango and Kohaku. It looks like Kagura is going to get it the next episode.

Anyway great episode, and I am glad the plot is moving.

You know I really hate the villains in this. All they do is talk trash and then run just like Koga. At first I called it a tactical retreat, but when it's done continuously it gets annoying.

Jesus, why the heck can't every manga adaptation be like this?

I think they went through like an entire volume with this episode.

EDIT: Actually, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but maybe this moved a bit too fast. I mean, like one second Kohaku's trying to save a kid and the literal next second Kagura shows up and "Dance of Blades" him.

Still a good ep though.

I'm confused. Now, it's been a while since I read the manga but...
I could've sworn that, realizing his own uselessness, Kouga peaces out from the story after the Moryomaru battle and he loses his sharRAB. Though it wasn't entirely clear if he lost his sharRAB in this episode.

Gah! I should probably reread these last volumes, since the anime seems to be shuffling stuff around.

Wow.. That was actually a good episode. I usually just look at Inuyasha to see if Sesshoumaru's going to appear. I've always been on the ropes about Inuyasha. One moment I hate it. Another moment I think it's decent, and then another moment it's mediocre. (Although, it's never reached that moment of greatness yet.)

But one thing I'll admit (and you probably won't hear this from others.) is that you'd have a better chance getting me to watch this over Naruto and Bleach... Mainly because I think the animation is pretty good. Even in its inconsistent moments it's still fairly decent since no one actually look hideous.

Anyway, like I said, this was quite a nice way to start things off although, I never knew Inuyasha met Kagome's classmates? I've probably seen the episode just never paid attention to it... (Especially if it was one of those episodes aimed at comedy.)

YES!!! Kagura dies... Sorry about that but, I find her to be a female version of Koga. Talk trash and then run. I just can't stand that.

I also have to admit that I am a bit lost since it's been forever since I've seen Inuyasha. I remeraber the characters I just don't remeraber the events leading up to it.. Oh well...

Such as? I've never considered comic relief as bringing anything to the talbe. Especially when one is not funny to begin with. But then again I just hate him. (Don't let my bitterness of him get in the way of your enjoyment. )

I watched the last two episodes together. The second episode was definitely the better of the two. The End of Moryomaru indeed. That was one wicked fight and Moryomaru and the baby totally got pwned by Naraku. Nice team up with Inuyasha and Koga. Naraku gets his next upgrade and screws over one the main characters. This is the first time while watching that anime that I was worried that Miroku might actually die. The blood from the eyes thing was really disturbing. Kudos to the animators. The biggest reason I don't want Miroku to die is because I don't want Sango to be sad. Poor girl lost nearly her entire family and losing the love of her life would really be the last straw.

Looking forward to the next episodes.

Here are the titles for the next couple of episodes. Episode 9 should be really awesome.

Episode 7: "The Mausoleum at Mount Azusa"
Episode 8: "As the Stars Shine"
Episode 9: "Sesshoumaru in Hell"
Episode 10: "A Grief-Stained Flower"
Episode 11: "Kanna's Gravestone"
